Dr. Christopher V. Hughes
Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Christopher V. Hughes received his DMD in 1982 from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to earn a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University in 1985 and a PhD in Microbiology from Georgetown University in 1991.
Prior to joining Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Hughes served as Assistant Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry (1984-85) and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Microbiology at Indiana University School of Dentistry (1990-93).
Currently, Dr. Hughes serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Pediatric Dentistry Department at GSDM. In addition, he is also an attending staff member at Boston Medical Center and Franciscan Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Hughes has a variety of professional interests. He has participated as a team member of Medical Missions for Children in Quito, Ecuador, in both 2001 and 2002. He is the Past President of the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a member of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hughes has also authored numerous publications and presented both nationally and internationally on a variety of pediatric dentistry topics.
