Dr. Russell Giordano

Prosthodontics
Dr. Giordano is an Associate Professor and Director of Biomaterials. He received his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, cum laude, in 1987. He was awarded a D.Med.Sc from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Biomaterials/Oral biology and a Certificate in Prosthodontics in 1991. While at Harvard, Dr. Giordano was a Research Fellow in Prosthetic Dentistry and in the Ceramics Processing Research Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1989-1991. He received his B.S. in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Boston College in 1982. 1997, he was elected Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials.

He is involved in many professional societies, including: the American College of Prosthodontics, Mass. Dental Society, American Association for Dental Research, American Dental Association, Academy of Dental Materials, American Ceramics Society, Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, and the American Chemical Society.
    
Dr. Giordano is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and has been actively involved in ceramic materials development and CAD/CAM systems at MIT, Harvard, and Boston University. He currently serves on the editorial board of the Massachusetts Dental Society, the Journal of Dental Technology, Journal of Dentistry, and Journal of Biomedical Materials. He has recently been appointed to the ADA CAD/CAM Standards Committee and the Restorative Materials Standards Committee. He has received numerous awards and grants from NIH and private industry. He lectures nationally and internationally.
